With 10,000 chips to start and slow 30 minute blind levels, The Grand is a true test of deep-stacked poker skills. In fact the tournament is so long that it is scheduled over three days. The first session lasts 6.5 hours, those that remain then come back the following evening to resume until the finish – which happens in the early hours the next day. How To Qualify For ‘The Grand’ At Poker Room.

A number of different satellite qualifier options are available for The Grand, including sit and goes, multi-table tournaments and a special turbo tournament.

Both the sit and go and standard multi-table tournament qualifiers are set up in 4 stages, with the 4th awarding seats directly into The Grand. Players may buy-in directly to any stage or may start at stage 1, where the buy-in is just $1+10c and work through the stages by winning a seat.

The stage 4 multi-table tournaments have a buy-in of $100+$8 and are held at weekends – awarding one seat in the main event for each $1040 in the prize pool. The stage 4 sit and go qualifier is a $150+$12 buy-in offering a ticket to The Grand for 1st place and a ‘try again’ stage 4 ticket for 2nd.
