Everest Poker Review
Summary:
This is our Everest Poker review summary.
Everest Poker is newer than most poker sites, but they already
have a big player base. They focus on providing an easy to use
poker site to a variety of geographical regions. Fast, loose
games and great promotions have encouraged a worldwide poker
audience to start playing at Everest Poker.
Everest Poker Player Base
Everest Poker
is a new poker site, but they already see
15,000 players at peak times. (Since Everest Poker has a large
European player base, peak times for that site are in the evenings
in Europe, not the USA.) Everest Poker only offers two poker games,
Texas holdem and Omaha. The key to their success has been their
ability to market poker to a global audience. The Everest Poker site
is available in sixteen languages, including Japaness and Hungrian. This
is all the more surprising as the game selection of this site is
limited to Texas Holdem and Omaha.
The players at Everest Poker are loose and inexperienced. High
stakes tables are available, but almost all of the action at Everest
Poker can be found at the lower limit tables.
Everest Poker Software
The Everest Poker software downloads quickly, but it lacks the
slick design and graphics of some of their competitors' software
offerings. The software is easy to use though.
The Everest Poker lobby has four tabs:
- Texas holdem
- Omaha
- Tournaments
- Sit n Go's
Clicking a tab will bring up additional options to choose from,
like betting structures and stakes. The list of tables displays the
percentage of players who see the flop and the average pot size. You
can click on the "spanner" sign in the lobby to build a custom list
of preferred tables. These preferences are saved for future visits.
The graphics of the tables are plain, but the side to top view
makes the table look more like a live poker table. Players' cards
are smaller on Everest Poker than on most other sites, but the
tables can be resized to make multitabling easier.
Everest Poker Cash Games
Texas
holdem is available in limit, pot limit, and no limit versions.
Omaha is available, but not Omaha 8, and it's available in limit and
pot limit versions.
The blind structure for no limit games at Everest Poker is
unusual. The small and big blinds for most games are identical, so
instead of a $1/$2 table, you'll find a $1/$1 table or a $2/$2
table. Stakes are available from 2c/2c up to $50/$50. Most of the
traffic can be found playing 50c/50c or $1/$1.
Full tables accommodate ten players, short handed tables
accommodate six, and heads up tables are also available.
Fixed limit games at Everest Poker offer traditional blind
structures, starting at 2c/4c and going up to $20/$40. Most of the
limit players are found playing $2/$4 and below.
Pot limit Omaha cash games at Everest Poker have identical
blinds, while the fixed limit games have traditional blinds. The
Omaha tables see little traffic. Stakes start at 2c/2c and 2c/4c going up to $20/$20 and $30/$60.
Everest Poker Tournaments
Most tournament action at Everest Poker happens at lower buy-in
Texas holdem events. Everest Poker offers fewer poker tournaments
than most other online poker sites. The poker tournaments they do
offer include guaranteed prize pools, rebuy tourneys, and satellites
to live poker events like the EPT. Occasional Omaha tournaments are
also available.
Everest Poker also offers a promotion called the "Everest Poker
Live the Dream" contest. Ten winning players can win the chance to
live like poker pros and represent Everest Poker at WPT and EPT
events for a year. The "Everest Poker Live the Dream" package is
estimated to be worth $100k. Satellites for this run daily starting
with buyins as low as $3+ 30c.
Sit and go tournaments are available at Everest Poker starting
with buyins as low as 4c and going up to $200+$15. The sit and go's
are available for ten players, six players, or heads up. Texas
holdem sit and go tournaments are available in limit and no limit
versions, and Omaha sit and go tournaments are available in limit
and pot limit versions.
Everest Poker Bonuses And Promotions
New players at Everest Poker receive a 100% matching bonus on
their first deposit of up to $100. This bonus is cleared by earning
"Summit Points". Each "Summit Point" is worth 7 cents toward
clearing the bonus. Tournament
(and sit and go) fees award 8 points per dollar – this is a 56%
reduction in fees while clearing the bonus.
Everest Poker also runs freerolls
which can be bought into with Summit Points. These include satellite
qualifiers to both the larger buy-in internal tournaments and live
events like EPT tournaments.
Everest Poker Customer Service
Service is only available via e-mail at Everest Poker. However
this covers all of the 16 languages supported by their client and
comes with a reputation for fast and knowledgeable responses.
Everest Poker Banking
Everest Poker use a 3rd party payment processor
‘Internet Billing Services’ to handle transactions. Payment options
include: Neteller, Click2Pay, Visa, Mastercard, Moneybookers and
PaySafeCard. Local options for the Chinese market are also
available. Deposits can be made in Dollars, Euros, British Pounds, Yen and more.
Finally
Don't let the ugly software run you off. Everest Poker is a great
site at which to play if you like lower stakes Texas holdem games.
If you're looking for higher limits or a bigger game selection,
choose another site.
